Summary from the Second Workshop

The summary of the Second Workshop has been written and is uploaded on the web-site. There is also a very short summary, also uploaded to the webpage. It has been sent to the translators and will during the next few months appear on the website in translation into 18 different languages. Beside this, the translators and partners of the Network work to have it published in national journals, newsletters, farming magazines and other relevant places.

Program for the third workshop

The organising committee of the third workshop has put out a preliminary program for the next workshop: "Enhancing animal health security and food safety in organic livestock production systems", which will take place in Falenty in Poland 16th-18th September this year. It is now possible to register for the workshop.

The three discussion lists have been started,

The three discussion-email lists have been opened and it is possible to sign in for participating in the discussions. The three lists are:

Organic Livestock Systems: This discussion list focuses on development of organic livestock systems under diverse conditions. Exchange of experience on organic animal husbandry systems, grassland systems, in mediterranian countries, candidate countries, mountain areas or any other of the many different systems in Europe.

Animal health and Food Safety: Focus on the combination of animal health issues and food quality and safety issues,

Standard Development – in member as well as candidate countries – and new member states!

We are also encouraging participants in these discussions to send announcements of workshops, conferences and other events to the discussion participants.

New page on our website prepared: Research Collaboration

On our webpage, a new web page has been made in order to facilitate collaboration as much as possible: we now have a page especially addressing possibilities for research collaboration. We plan to use this page both for announcement and notification of calls for research proposals of interest for the users of the web site focusing on animal health or food safety issues in organic production, and to describe various research projects where formal or informal research contact is of interest.

New page on our website from the network: Standard Development

We have made a page specifically about Standards and Standard Development, as this is one of our main issues and tasks in the network. The Standard Development reports will be available from here, and there is a link to the most updated EU standards. Together with the new discussion email forum focusing on Standard Development, we hope that debate and information about the use of standards will be lively and well used by the users of our web site.
