Work plan

The objectives of SAFO are met by active networking in a structure that includes:

  1. Workshops followed by proceedings and discussion reports, and where all partners are actively exchanging and distributing knowledge, and where relevant stakeholders and policy makers are invited to a dialogue. The workshops are expected to contain both scientific sessions with oral presentations, plenary discussions and group discussions.
  2. Technology transfer programme in candidate countries, where partners from these countries interact with those from member states with well established organic sectors and enter a dialogue with relevant policy makers, control bodies and organisations in candidate member countries
  3. Facilitation of research proposals emerging within the network, where partners in different research areas combine their efforts and experience
  4. Exchange of information between partners and other stakeholders, and
  5. Analysis and recommendations on the development of organic livestock production standards in the EU, with emphasis on the dialogue and two-sided communication.

The work is organized into six Work Packages (WP):
