Objectives & work description > Work packages > Work Package 6

WP6: Technology transfer

This work package will be managed by partner 4, represented by Dr. David Younie from Scottish Agricultural University. In order to ensure that the results and conclusions of the project are effectively transferred to the end-users, this work package contains the following activities:

1. Translation of a summary of each set of proceedings to the languages of all partner countries

A summary in the partner country language is produced of each set of proceedings and published at least in one end-user relevant publication in each country. This summary will focus on issues that are relevant in each partner country. Partner 4 will be responsible for ensuring that these publications take place. Partner 6 from FiBL (Ch) will help coordinating the versions to the German speaking countries.

2. A one-day road show in five candidate countries

A road show is defined as a serial of workshops taking place in different countries, where a ‘team’ is the back-bone for all work-shops: they organise it, and there are some topics and presentations from the network which will be presented and discussed at all workshops during this road show. Beside this, country specific conditions will be dealt with and discussed in a two-way communication, so that the participants from the network are confronted and discussing these problems, challenges and questions, and can bring them into the discussion at the final workshop in the network. These road shows will be aimed at end users (livestock producers), certification bodies and policy makers. Aiming to bring the information from the project to the end-user level in the candidate member states and to encourage discussion among farmers and policy makers in accession countries regarding the potential and constraints and research requirements in relation to organic livestock production. The road shows are organised in collaboration with Partner 4 and partners in each of the five candidate countries. In each, the host country partner will be asked to present the state-of-the-art of organic livestock production in their country.

Partner 4 will also be responsible for writing a report from each road show in collaboration with the local partner. These reports will be included in the proceedings of the final project workshop and will also be produced, printed and distributed as separate reports.
