One of the main objectives of SAFO is to provide a network, which allow an exchange and active communication of research results and conclusions between researchers, policy makers, farmers and the wider stakeholder community, including consumers.

Action plan

New initiatives setting out the Community policy for organic farming to develop the market for organic food and improve standards by increasing their efficacy, transparency and consumer confidence are presented in the Commission's European Action Plan for Organic Food and Farming.

Research collaboration

We have recently made a web page, which is intended both for announcement and notification of calls for research proposals of interest focusing on animal health or food safety issues in organic production, and to describe various research projects where formal or informal research contact is of interest.
